If you're a woman or one of the 95% of gay or metrosexual men who have hair in places where they'd rather not, I think you're going to like this...
Yesterday I received the TRIA Personal Laser Hair Removal System so that I could try it and write about it for EDGE. I charged it up today, called and activated it this afternoon (which was a hoot), and decided to try it tonight for the first time. First impression- OMG, it's so easy to use!
I was expecting it to be complicated, somewhat scary, and painful, but it was none of these things. Basically you turn it on, choose which power setting you can "handle," set it against your freshly-shaven skin, and it does the rest. The only "bad" thing about it was that I actually got bored before I was done with the areas that I was treating. (Don't get scared, I decided to do the tops of my feet, backs of my triceps, and a little part on my hand.) The discomfort was minimal- much less than getting snapped by a rubber band, which is how the company describes it.
Keep your eyes here for updates as I continue using it; you're supposed to treat each area about every three weeks, for 6-8 treatments, to reduce hair by about 80%. If I get good results, I may have to go back and "zap" some other areas... although I might have to get a volunteer to help me with that!
