Like the holidays and love the ladies? 'Yule' love this then...

OK, so yes, it's a horrid pun, but come on- we're talking about a DVD that plays a fireplace- with burlesque dancers in front of it- on your giant flat-screen TV. Sue me.

Anyway, I just did a write-up on this not-so-sophisticated yet funny, fun, and entertaining DVD, so check it out if you're so inclined. To read my review, click on the blog title, or see a sample from YouTube below.

I LVOE Louis Vuitton's Damier Graphite

Last night I went to a FABULOUS party at the Louis Vuitton boutique at Copley, here in Boston. It was the launch event for the new Damier Graphite line, and although the collection looked fantastic, it was all about Champagne and gambling last night!

The store had been turned into a casino, with blackjack, roulette, and other table games and guests were given LV money when we arrived. We turned that in for chips (with the LV logos of course- SO hot!) and used that to play all night. Ryan (one of my Boston homies) and I did pretty well, but unfortunately weren't the big winners at the table- some guy and his girlfriend pooled their money at the end and won a $1,000 LV prize. : ( Ryan did win a bottle of Hennessy, which is great so long as you don't consider the fact that he doesn't drink... and he's not ghetto.

We jung out with the ever-fabulous Asst. GM from Gucci (across the hall), and my favorite SA from the LV at Saks was there. The best part of the evening though, is the fact that I managed to spend three hours in a LV boutique- drinking nonetheless- and didn't spend a dime! (I already had the limited edition gorgeous briefcase from the runway collection- pictured.)

Might get my pic in one of the local Boston mags or possible in Esquire; they co-hosted the party. Won't lose any sleep over that either way.

DUI? Try FUI...

As a Travel Editor, guess how much I like to read about drunk pilots? Not so much. What makes the story even better is that the pilot works for United, the airline that I fly about 90% of the time... lovely.

I don't know what possesses people to drive after they drink, but compared to a pilot deciding to drink before getting on a place- WTF? Was he also retarded? 'Cause that's the only reason I can think of that someone would do something so stupid.

Anyway, maybe they should install those breathing tubes in cockpits, so that pilots couldn't "start" a plane before passing the breathalizer test.

*I have nothing against mentally- or physically disabled/challenged individuals... and had I not moved to Boston a few years ago this word would not be in my vocabulary. Thanks Boston!

No on 8

I was a little bit ashamed when I read today that only about 30,000 people have donated money to the No on 8 campaign in California. Meanwhile, the lovely people of the Mormon church, the Knights of Columbus, and other conservative groups (you know, the ones who like to dictate how everyone should live) have raised about $18 million.

Marriage Equality is something I believe in, and although I have absolutely no faith that the people of America are intellectually or spiritually advanced enough to support this, I do believe that the people of California are capable of it. Unfortunately, not enough people know about the issue- or know the facts- because for the most part gays are apathetic, lazy, and think that we can just sit on our asses in our designer jeans and let a few activists in our community do all of the work. Oh- and could we also get some celebrities to not only foot the bill, but to get the word out as well? Thanks.

Listen people- it's going to take ALL OF US to defeat these neo-con bigots, and we're not going to do it by watching Desperate Housewives marathons. Every dollar counts, and every person who you personally talk to about the issue counts MORE. Email your friends in California, and then CALL THEM to talk about how it affects you, our economy, and the future of America.

Conservatives are targeting churches and getting their congregations to vote for hate, and take away a constitutional right to equality. The only way we're going to stop this is to get the word out.

One way you can help is by donating money in order to pay for TV ads. You can do this at either of these sites:

PLEASE get off your ass and do something- or don't bitch when you lose the right to marry.
